Surge protector requirements of PV inverter manufactures have evolved. To save the space in the cabinets, they have decided to replace DIN rail SPD by mounted SPDs: these ones are designed to be mounted directly inside the inverter, soldered on the internal PCB.

To comply this new request, LSP has developed two dedicated product ranges : PAC and PPV. PAC and PPV is the series of socket bases that allow for integration of LSP’s pluggable IEC/EN surge protection cartridges (Class II / Type 2) directly on printed circuit boards. Those socket bases are suitable for all kind applications and any network configuration. Integration of surge protection on PCBs is often planned for at an early stage of development of the system.

PPV range is designed to protect the DC side of photovoltaic inverters. The single pole module must be soldered on a PCB, in parallel on the DC network.

  • Optimal solution for the industry of power electronics: inverters, converters, control panels for railway, PV combiner boxes, machines, OEM equipment, etc.
  • Single pole socket for all networks configurations: TNS, TT, TNC, IT, “Y”PV and MPPTs
  • Type 1+2 surge protector (Iimp: 6.25kA, Ucpv up to 1500 Vdc)
  • Type 2 (Imax: 40 or 25 kA, Ucpv up to 1500 Vdc)
  • Remote and visual indication of protection device life status.
  • EN 50539-11:2013 (EN 61643-31:2019) and IEC 61643-31:2018 compliance
  • Cost and space saving

PAC range is designed to protect the AC side of photovoltaic inverters. The single pole module must be soldered directly on the PCB, in parallel on the AC network.

  • Single pole socket for all networks configurations: TNS, TT, TNC, IT
  • Uc: 420 Vac or 850 Vac
  • Imax: 10 or 20 kA
  • Remote and visual indication of protection device life status.
  • EN 61643-11:2012 and IEC 61643-11:2011
  • Cost and space saving
